In order to be a successful International Data Governance Manager you will have…
- Previous experience in a similar role within a highly regulated sector with a focus on client relationship management, solution sourcing or product development
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR, Canadian federal and provincial data protection laws and other global data protection regulations, any exposure to New Zealand regulations would be highly advantageous
- Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
The role
As International Data Governance Manager you will be responsible for reviewing the current data protection processes and policies in how they collect, process, control and store client’s data. You will also take ownership for building frameworks on data governance strategies, ensure compliance with data protection laws both relating to EU and further international settings. When you come into the role you will assess the effectiveness of both the businesses current data governance frameworks and clients’ data governance frameworks before identifying areas of improvement and develop new strategies tailored to the relevant needs and operating structures. As part of the role you will conduct data audits and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) as well as developing risk mitigation plans and data security measures to protect sensitive information.
