Hybrid (2-3 days a week in office)

 

About the Role

We are seeking an HR Manager to lead and deliver end-to-end human resources services for our Quebec operations. This role is responsible for ensuring strong operational execution across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, engagement, and compliance. As a trusted business partner to leadership, the HR Manager will support organizational growth by aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, strengthening workplace culture, and ensuring full compliance with Quebec and Canadian employment legislation.

 

Responsibilities

People Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Act as a strategic partner to leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, performance management, and employee development
  • Support leaders through change management initiatives and organizational growth
  • Advise on career pathways, succession planning, and talent development strategies
  • Promote and strengthen company culture and employee experience

Recruitment, Talent & Workforce Planning

  • Support workforce planning, headcount management, and talent mapping
  • Oversee onboarding programs and employee integration
  • Manage succession planning and internal mobility initiatives
  • Benchmark compensation and support salary planning processes

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Lead employee relations matters including investigations, conflict resolution, performance improvement, disciplinary processes, and terminations
  • Ensure disciplinary actions are handled fairly, consistently, and in compliance with legislation and company policies
  • Support performance review cycles and ongoing feedback processes
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on people management best practices

Learning, Development & Engagement

  • Support learning and development initiatives aligned with business needs
  • Drive employee engagement programs and feedback initiatives
  • Analyze engagement data and lead action planning to improve workplace experience
  • Promote employee wellbeing programs and workplace health initiatives

Compliance, Policy & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Quebec and Canadian employment legislation, CNESST requirements, and labour standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures
  • Monitor internal policy adherence and regulatory compliance
  • Stay current on employment law updates and advise leadership accordingly
  • Support audit readiness and risk mitigation

HR Operations Oversight

  • Oversee payroll and benefits administration in partnership with the HR Generalist
  • Review HR metrics and management reports
  • Partner with external legal counsel, payroll vendors, and benefits providers as required
  • Support work permit and immigration processes when applicable

Culture & Workplace Experience

  • Act as a champion of company culture and values
  • Support internal communications and employee events
  • Lead workplace initiatives that strengthen engagement and inclusion
  • Organize and support company events and recognition programs

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or Senior HR Generalist in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong knowledge of Quebec and Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Experience managing both strategic HR initiatives and operational execution
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization abilities
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in sensitive situations
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • High level of adaptability and proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • Strong computer literacy (HRIS, Microsoft Office)

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in French and English is required due to Quebec regulatory and operational needs
