Business Systems Analyst

San Jose (Hybrid 3 days a week in office)

We are partnered with a company that provides consulting services specializing in statistical analysis and risk management who are looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join their growing team.  

The Business Systems Analyst within our Strategic Initiatives Implementation Team will not only play a crucial role in gathering requirements and designing solutions but will also take a hands-on approach throughout the implementation process.

You will actively participate in the implementation, configuration, validation, testing, and course corrections, ensuring that the solutions meet business needs and deliver value to stakeholders. Your proactive involvement will be instrumental in driving successful outcomes and overcoming challenges along the way. This position requires a strong understanding of business processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements for new initiatives and system enhancements.
• Utilize analytical skills to ensure a thorough understanding of user needs and objectives. Conduct interviews, workshops, and meetings with stakeholders to understand their needs, pain points, and objectives.
• Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and data flows to identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
• Translate business requirements into actionable system specifications, including user stories, process flows, and data models.
• Work with technical teams to design solutions that align with business objectives and technical constraints.
• Work closely within the Strategic Initiatives Implementation team and other stakeholders to ensure that technical solutions meet business needs and requirements.
• Take a hands-on approach throughout the implementation process, actively participating in validation, testing and course corrections.
• Engage with stakeholders to validate assumptions, verify functionality and address issues in real-time
• Perform impact analysis and risk assessment to identify potential issues and dependencies related to proposed changes or enhancements.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of technology solutions, tools, and platforms.
• In collaboration with UAT teams, develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate system functionality and ensure alignment with business requirements.
• Conduct testing activities, identify defects, and facilitate resolution with cross-functional teams. Monitor and track project progress, milestones, and deliverables, and communicate updates to stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience as a business systems analyst or similar role, preferably in software development or IT projects.
• Strong understanding of business processes, workflows, and data analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and logically. Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, functional specifications, and use cases.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of chatbot technologies, ETL integration tools, SQL databases, programming languages, or software development methodologies is desirable.
• Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) is a plus.
