Data Protection Officer (Swedish) 
International Business Consultancy - London 
Hybrid working, 2/3 days a week in the office 

We’re partnering with a fast paced, international digital business looking to appoint an experienced Data Protection Officer to lead and evolve its global privacy and data protection function.

This is a high impact role sitting at the intersection of legal, compliance, technology, security and operations. You’ll act as the organisation’s subject matter expert on privacy, helping shape governance frameworks, influence senior stakeholders and ensure data is handled responsibly across a complex, highly regulated environment.

The position would suit someone who enjoys balancing commercial objectives with strong regulatory oversight, while operating in a business that processes large volumes of customer data across multiple jurisdictions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Acting as the lead authority on global privacy and data protection matters
  • Driving compliance across UK GDPR, EU GDPR and wider international privacy regulations
  • Developing and maintaining privacy policies, governance frameworks and operational standards
  • Advising senior leadership on privacy risk, regulatory obligations and business impact
  • Partnering closely with product, marketing, technology, legal and security teams
  • Leading DPIAs, privacy reviews and risk mitigation activities
  • Managing third party data processing and international data transfer considerations
  • Supporting privacy by design across customer journeys, onboarding and digital products
  • Handling regulatory engagement, audits, investigations and data subject matters
  • Delivering privacy training and helping build a strong compliance culture across the business

What they’re looking for

  • Proven experience in a Data Protection Officer or senior privacy leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, EU GDPR and wider privacy legislation
  • Experience operating within a regulated digital, fintech, payments or complex online environment
  • Strong understanding of data governance, consent management and privacy risk
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across both technical and non-technical teams
  • Confident balancing commercial needs with regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or equivalent experience would be beneficial
