Location: Cape Town
Hybrid: 3 days per week in office
Salary 1,200,000 - 1,500,000
The Head of Content Production is a key leadership role responsible for leading the design and implementation of a scalable content production system that leverages AI and advanced translation technology to deliver high-quality, multilingual content efficiently. This role bridges the gap between the brand vision and broader client eco-system objectives, focusing on operational excellence while maintaining quality, brand consistency and asset performance.
Responsibilities
- Establish content production workflows and standards across teams
- Support the allocation of internal talent and external freelancers/agencies across multiple projects based on priorities, skills, budgets and bandwidth
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and tracking of content production projects, ensuring deadlines are met and proactively identifying and mitigating risks to timelines and budgets
- Partner with leadership to ensure all output is on-brand, meets the highest quality standards, and adheres to established brand guidelines and compliance requirements.
- Define and monitor KPIs tied to operational efficiency and content effectiveness
- Report on production metrics and ROI to senior leadership
- Build and optimize a content delivery system integrating AI-enabled prompt engineering tools
- Maintain and optimize multi-language MemoQ Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) software solutions
- Support technology stack selection and integration
- Lead, mentor, and foster a high-performing, inclusive and collaborative operations team culture, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities
- Recruit and develop content prompt engineers and language specialists
- Create standardized processes for content creation, review, and publication
- Establish quality assurance protocols
- Track operational metrics against SLAs: production speed, cost per asset, resource utilization, turnaround time
- Monitor content effectiveness: engagement rates, accuracy, audience impact, brand consistency
- Use data to continuously improve processes and team performance
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in content operations within an agency or in-house content department, with a proven track record in a leadership role
- Deep understanding of content development and production processes across various digital media (video, written and language)
- Strong SEO practices, Wordpress and Webflow content systems understanding is a benefit
- Strong leadership, people management, and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and navigate challenging stakeholder negotiations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable solutions
- Familiarity with software (AI-assisted content tools, Figma, MemoQ), client portal software and project/workflow management tools (Jira, Celoxis, Bynder)
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Project Management, or experience in a related content-based field
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to ever-changing demands
